Welcome to my site; I hope you find everything you need to know about myself, my books, my characters and their worlds...
"The characters are well written and will draw you into their lives." Virginia, Goodreads.
I grew up in Epsom, home of the Derby, and went to 3 local schools: Ebbisham, Stamford Green and Rosebery. We live near many beautiful and inspiring places to walk like Headley Heath, Norbury Park and Box Hill, (made famous in Jane Austen's "Emma").
I studied English inc. Medieval Studies at Exeter University in the late '80s and followed my degree with a PGCE at Rolle College, Exmouth.
I taught in Surrey primary schools until I started having children ~ and then I began writing in earnest instead. I returned to teaching for a few years to help keep the wolf from the door but have now paused while we instigate our dream move to Devon.
I enjoy reading (find me at http://www.goodreads.com and http://www.authorsden.com), art, film & theatre, music, and history ~ including my own personal family history. I haven't found any royals yet ~ just a wealth of interesting peasants, merchants and pioneers.
I have been writing for years but "Blood and Allegiance" is my first story to be published, January 2009, by Nightingale Books. "Escape and Betrayal" is published in October 2010 and follows on from "Blood and Allegiance", continuing the adventures of Bryony, her friends and family.
I have several other fantasy adventures on the go including others in my "Athlandia" series. What started as a set of 3 books has steadily grown in my head!
I also wish to write in other genres in the future, including historical and supernatural, both for children and adults.
