PhD Students
Vineeth is currently a Ph.D candidate at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, under the joint supervision of Dr. Ankit Singhal and Prof. Sukumar Mishra. He holds a Master's degree in Power Electronics and Drives from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. With over 12 years of teaching experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he has gained extensive expertise in both theory and practice. His research interests include control and stability analysis of inverter-based resources, grid-forming inverters, and switched-mode power supply design.
Ashwini has did B.Tech from KIIT University (Electronics & Electrical Engineering) and M.Tech from NIT Patna (Power System Engineering) and PhD from IIT Delhi (Since 2023). After B.Tech he worked at Wipro as Project Engineer (VLSI Board Design - Hardware) and Around 1 year at ALSTOM after M.Tech as Train Electrical Engineer (Bhopal-Indore Metro Project)
Manu is a PhD student at IIT Delhi working jointly with Prof. Abhijit R. Abhyankar and Prof. Ankit Singhal. His research area is focussed on devising an energy market framework for TSO-DSO coordination to enable grid flexibility services. A postgraduate from IIT Delhi with a bachelors from NPTI, Manu brings with himself a composite experience of more than 8 years in power market modelling and power system optimization. He is currently associated with Mitsubishi Power Americas working on the fronts of production cost modelling and analysis of utilities in U.S power markets. His previous experience was with Mercados Energy Markets India, providing consultancy services to the Power & Utility domain with rich experience in implementation of Electricity Trade and Risk Management solutions. His initial stint with General Electric was focused in the field of Power System Studies, Transmission Planning and Grid Integration Modelling.
Devangi is a PhD student in IIT Delhi, under the supervision of Dr. Ankit Singhal and Dr. Yashasvi Bansal. She did her M.Tech. from IIT Gandhinagar (2022-24). Her M.Tech. project work focuses on "Impact assessment of False Data Injection Attack on Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading Enabled Distribution Network". Her B.Tech is from NIT Hamirpur (2018-22). Her research interests broadly includes P2P Power Markets , Cyber Security aspects of Smart Grid, Solar photovoltaics. Devangi has qualified Gate exam in Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering in 2022 with an AIR 1140. Also she is the receipient of GRID-INDIA Power Systems Awards (formally known as POSOCO award ) in 2024-25 in masters category.
Phanisankar Chilukuri is working towards his Ph.D. under the joint guidance of Prof. Ankit Singhal and Prof. Nilanjan Senroy on topics related to renewable energy integration. He received his B.E (EEE) from Andhra University (S.R.K.R. Engineering College) in 2011 and earned his M. Tech. in Power Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2013. He joined Grid Controller of India Limited (formerly known as POSOCO) in 2013. At the National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) of GRID-INDIA, Phanisankar Chilukuri has been instrumental in implementing and scaling Automatic Generation Control (AGC) across India covering 74 power plants. He played a key role in conceptualizing and in-house software development of Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED), which has optimized the decentralized generation scheduling in India and achieved national savings of approximately ₹39 billion since its inception in April 2019.
Priyam Jain has recently joined IIT Delhi as a part-time PhD candidate in the Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) department. He completed his B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Indore and M. Tech in Power Systems from IIT Delhi. He is currently working at NLDC, Grid-India (POSOCO) and have experience of 8+ years in power system studies. His expertise includes network modeling and analysis, optimization studies, and renewable energy (RE) integration. He had also contributed to the development of various regulations, reports, and guidelines in the Indian power sector. His research interests focus on stability analysis in regions dominated by inverter-based resources (IBRs) and the impact of emerging technologies, such as grid-forming inverters (GFMs), on system stability. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of CIGRE.
Sakshi Pandey, currently pursuing PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) at IIT Delhi as a full-time candidate. She did her M. Tech degree in Power Electronics & Drives (PED) from MMMUT Gorakhpur and B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from UTU Dehradun. Her academic journey has been deeply rooted in exploring innovative solutions in the power systems domain. Her research focuses on advancing technologies in Battery Management Systems (BMS), Electric Vehicles (EVs), and renewable energy integration into the power grid, along with High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems. She is passionate about developing sustainable energy solutions and their seamless integration into modern power systems.
Minakshi, currently pursuing PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) at IIT Delhi as a full-time candidate. She did her M. Tech degree in Power Systems from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana and B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Ajmer.
