Chaos and Fractals

One of the primary feature of nature is fractal nature. Fractal itself is not something awesome but once they are understood they could show amazing property of the underlying space. Fractal can be "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least about) reduced-size copy of the whole". "Rough" is the keyword as otherwise it is called self-similarity. Even a straight line is self-similar to itself, but fractal can be very strange things. Self-similarity is only a property of fractal. One of the reason why fractal arises in nature is because the underlying process somehow is not just local, but have some memory and is affected by nearby process. Chaos can also cause fractals.
