ME Graduation: Ian Good is hooded (Ph.D)! Rohith and Eric graduate with MS. Lily, Joseph, Grace, Hannah, and Yobel graduate with BS.
May: Aniruddh presented at International Microwave Power Institute (IMPI) Conference in Washington DC. He was also invited to the Young Professional Panel discussion at the Conference.
April: Ankush presented his work on vitrimer at ASME Aerospace Structures, Structural Dynamics. Surabhit presented a poster at Materials Research Society (MRS) Conference. Both conferences were held in Seattle.
March: Our paper with Prof Iyer's group and Microsoft Research on recyclable printed circuit boards was published in Nature Sustainability. Work featured on UW News and multiple Media Outlets like IEEE Spectrum etc.
Jan: U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy recently funded our research on integrating Radiofrequency heating and machine learning for efficient manufacturing.
2023
Nov: Our work on using generative AI models to design recyclable plastics was highlighted by Microsoft in their release of Accelerating Sustainability with AI: A Playbook.
August: Agni's paper on ultrasonic welding of vitrimers is published in Composite Science and Technology.
June: Sai, Kerwin, and Rauf graduate. They have done exceptional work on their mechatronics project! Also, another collaborative paper with Green lab at Texas A&M is published in Applied Materials Today on using plasma for repair.
March: Collaborative paper with Prof Micah Green at Texas A&M on composite repair published. Peter and Katey join the group.
Feb: Aniruddh presented group's work at The Boeing Company, Applied Math Seminars, Virtual, Atomistic-scale simulations of complex reactive materials.
Jan: Jared's paper is published in Journal of Materials Research and Technology. Sai starts at Electroimpact. Aniruddh is appointed as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Molecular Engineering and Sciences Institute at UW.
2022
Nov: Our collaborative paper with Rice University was published in Science Advances on converting petroleum product to graphene.
Oct: Aniruddh gives an invited talk at Materials Science and Technology 22 and SES 22.
Aug: Our group's collaborative paper on recycling carbon fiber composites was published in ChemSusChem. Grace and Greg join the group.
July: Our work with Microsoft Research was featured on MSR Blog. Lily joins the research group.
June: Eric and Jared graduate with BS Mechanical, and Jonathan, Ian, and Colin graduate with MS Mechanical. Jonathan won the best MS Researcher Award.
May: Aniruddh presented at Material Research Society in Honolulu, Hawaii. Collaborative work with NDSU is published in ACS APM.
March: Two papers published: Collaborative paper with Prof Micah Green at Texas A&M on additive manufacturing of thermosets was published; also our collaborative paper with Prof Mahbub Islam on using DFT to explore double transition metal MXenes came out!
Feb: Aniruddh presented group's work at Virginia Tech Material Science department; Jonathan's paper was featured on Materials Today Magazine.
Jan: Aniruddh presented the group's work at Western Washington University (WWU) and Virginia Tech (MSE). Sydney, Hung, and Alex join the group!
2021
November: Our paper on vitrimer that was recently published in Carbon, the paper got widespread tech news coverage in Phy.org, EurekAlert, Slashgear, and SCM company. His interview was also published in TechBriefs.
November: Aniruddh presented Getting the Academic Support You Need: A Workshop for International Graduate Students at Center for International Relations and Cultural Leadership Exchange (CIRCLE)
September: Ankush joins the lab as the first Ph.D. graduate student. Aniruddh presented at Boeing Company.
June: Kristina joins the lab! She will be working on bi-stable composite structures.
April: Aniruddh gave a seminar at the Material Science Department at the University of Washington.
April: Aniruddh presented his work on "Combined Atomistic-Continuum Model for Multi-Material Fracture" at MRS 2021.
March: We are grateful to SCM for giving our group access to their suite of software. Their support will go a long way in helping the group perform cutting edge research in mechanics of materials.
