Angeles National Forest (ANF) is located adjacent to the City of Los Angeles in southern California. The ANF provides wildfire management services within the ANF - typically operating a maximum of 35 type 3 engines with nominal crews of 5 people each; 5 handcrews of 20 persons each; 1 to 5 helicopters, 2 bulldozers, approx 15 patrol trucks (with 1 person each) ; and 5 water tenders. The units are staffed daytimes for close to 365 days per year. During the worst of fire season - the typical response to a vegetation fire is 5 engines, 2 hand crews, 1 dozer, 1 helicopter, and 1 water tender. If the location is within 1 mile of the ANF border, there will also be a full wildland response from at least one adjacent agency. ANF also responds to motor vehicle accidents and medical emergencies within the ANF under a "closest response" mutual aid agreement with Los Angeles County. Oct 2022

Fire Resource Lineup - created May 4 2016 from - famcat.us (station locations and districts) + wildlandfire.com (engine numbers) + wildcad historical info - [8/2017 ish - even the dispatcher seemed to be confused doing a recent morning lineup - San Dimas vs San Dimas Tech vs Superintendants Office ]
All stations are in Los Angeles County (except 39 which is in San Bernardino County)
All engines are type 3 (500 GPM / 500 gallon) with 5 man crews - staffed daytimes - some stations have beds - some probably do not
All "Patrols" are small pumpers with just 1 person on board (possibly a "fire prevention officer" who enforces fire prevention regulations)
