The screenshot of the module on this page, represents simplicity of design when creating a shorter course such as this 2 hour CPE credit course. The course consists of a single module containing a minimal number of pages.
Progress through the module is completely self paced, with low-stakes self-checks along the way. Users are allowed multiple attempts at these self-check quizzes and are given plenty of feedback as they work on them. (Click on image to view larger.)
The structure of this module represents the segmenting aspect of the "Segmenting & Pre-training Principle" in that the lesson is presented in segments, rather than as a continuous unit. Although the course is relatively short, designers should never assume a learner has time to proceed through the entire course in one sitting.
Finally, the "Personalization Principle" is once again represented. As noted above, this course contains self-paced user control, as well as frequent practice and interaction with the content.
