Angela Destro is an Independent Contractor specializing in Educator Professional Development / Coaching and Instructional Design. Angela leverages her experience as a seasoned professional learning provider and experienced educator to provide instructional design and pedagogical support to educators in order to promote environments that stimulate engagement and improve student learning. She is dedicated to fostering faculty development, and solving problems effectively.
As a professional development instructor and coach, Angela has written numerous professional learning presentations and courses relating to the education of ELL students. She draws upon her wealth of experience as a classroom teacher, where she maintained an excellent track record of success in improving state test scores for all students, and especially ELL students, by creating innovative curriculum tools to fill learning gaps. The learning opportunities she has developed are based on current research and her own experience, and have received rave reviews. These opportunities are offered in a variety of formats. She has been a presenter at state conferences such as AIE and Title III Symposium and has won awards for teaching excellence.
As an instructional designer, Angela works collaboratively to advise and support instructors in the development of fully online and hybrid classes. Angela works with both D2L and Canvas LMS platforms. Angela has authored online courses in her specialty of ELL instruction, but as a Canvas Instructure contractor, and a former higher-ed instructional designer, she has also authored online courses on various other pedagogical topics. Angela earned her M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
Although she now works across the U.S. with districts, campuses, administrators and teachers, her passion and heart will always be with the ELL students she serves.
