Spiritual Goals & Objectives:

Goals: To make God my life’s center. To listen for God’s guidance before I act/speak. To pray for my students and their families. To model Christ-like servanthood. Pray for peace in our school, community, and world. #LOVEMATTERS

Objectives:

Ø Pray my daily “Empty Vessel” Prayer in the mornings.

Ø Create a Prayer Board/Religious Center for my students to post prayer requests and religious poems/art.

Ø Post, learn, and teach traditional prayers. Model spontaneous prayer.

Ø Teach respect for the Crucifix, the holy sacraments, and our national flag.

Academic Goals & Objectives:

Goals: To prepare students academically for high school and beyond. To provide ample opportunities for students to explore ideas for writing. To model pre-writing techniques such as brainstorming, clustering, discussing, dramatizing, and the Jane Schaffer method. To focus on a variety of reading strategies and focus and comprehension skills. To increase knowledge of literary terms and robust vocabulary. To incorporate DOA Standards regularly into my ELA lessons.

To instruct traditional grammar rules in an exciting way!! To relate how studying ancient/past cultures, literature, etymology, and histories can teach us about ourselves and the modern world in which we live.

Embrace the joys & challenges of online learning and technology. Design asynchronous, flexible learning experiences for students. #KickCovid19Butt

Objectives:

Ø Model a positive attitude about incorporating the DOA Standards.

Ø Respond sensitively, constructively, and promptly to student compositions: to read carefully and making at least one positive comment before offering suggestions for improvements.

Ø Address our study of English Language Arts within the context of students' daily speaking, listening, writing, and reading activities.

Ø Discover and foster “teachable moments” regularly.

Ø Create and develop an ELA-enriched classroom website.

Ø Promote reading for enjoyment.

Ø State/post objectives weekly on RenWeb & on my website.

Ø Incorporate technology in the curriculum effectively.

Ø Master my subject matter.

Ø Create an active, well-disciplined, yet enjoyable learning environment!!

Physical Goals & Objectives:

Goals: To maintain a well-disciplined classroom that provides a safe environment for my students and any visitors. To clearly state/post Classroom Rules. To strictly enforce a no-bullying policy in my classroom. To keep an open dialogue about Internet safety. To foster an awareness for good personal hygiene amongst my lovely pre-teen students.

Objectives:

Ø SMILE! SMILE! SMILE!

Ø Research/attend opportunities for Professional Development.

Ø Turn paperwork in on time.

Ø Keep a neat work space.

Ø Activate students’ WHOLE-BRAIN LEARNING!!: “Class-Yes!!”

Ø Exercise more & eat healthy!!

Ø Communicate regularly with parents: Make regular “progress report” phone calls home.

Psychological Goals & Objectives:

Goals: To praise my students’ accomplishments (big or small) and to redirect them whenever they need extra guidance. To respect my students and to expect respect back from them. To inspire children to become better thinkers and problem solvers. Avoid teacher burnout...reach in, reach out.

Objectives:

Ø Be attentive to the diverse needs, personalities, and learning styles of each child.

Ø Compassion: Be aware of the impact of out-of-school experiences on my students.

Ø “Wong 'em at the door!” – Greet students as they enter classroom as much as possible.

Ø Appreciate ALL teachers and support staff at HSM.

Ø Stay humble…Remember the servant’s lesson!!

Ø “CHALLENGE THYSELF”: Challenge my students and MYSELF to reach personal goals!!!

Ø Set HIGH EXPECTATIONS & Motivate..Motivate…Motivate!!!!
