I am a Professor of Philosophy at the City University of New York, specifically in the Philosophy Program at LaGuardia Community College. I am also a Chercheur Associé at the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, University of Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne (IHPST).
My research focuses on topics in the metaphysics, epistemology, and language of science, particularly regarding natural kinds and classification. I also have interests in the history of philosophy (especially Locke and Hume), and 19th Century European philosophy, especially proto-Existentialists like Nietzsche.
Finally, I am the lead chair in organizing LaGuardia's annual Undergraduate Philosophy Conference co-hosted by the Humanities Program and the Social Sciences Department, and the coordinator for the Queens Public Philosophy discussion group.
