Andreea Mitrut

I am a Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where I serve as Deputy Head of Department (Proprefekt), PhD Programme Director, and Head of Research.  

My research lies at the intersection of labor economics, public economics, and public health. I study how institutions, policies and socioeconomic conditions shape health, education, and inequality. 

I am a Research Fellow at the ROCKWOOL Foundation, Berlin, an Affiliated Researcher at SITE, Stockholm School of Economics and J-PAL. I have also been a visiting scholar at SIPA, Columbia University.

My research has been featured in international media, including BBC News, The Independent, The Telegraph, and Göteborgs-Posten.
