Andreea Mitrut

I am a Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where I serve as Deputy Head of Department (Proprefekt), PhD Programme Director, and Head of Research.  

My research lies at the intersection of labor economics, public economics, and public health. I study how social and economic conditions shape health, education, and inequality, and how public policies can alter these outcomes. 

I am a Research Fellow at the ROCKWOOL Foundation, Berlin, an Affiliated Researcher at SITE, Stockholm School of Economics and J-PAL. During the last five years, I have been a visiting scholar at SIPA, Columbia University.

My research has received international media coverage, including BBC News, Romanian National TV News, Realitatea TV (RO), The Independent (UK), The Telegraph (UK), Göteborgs-Posten (SE), Evenimentul Zilei (RO), Gândul (RO), and Adevărul (RO).
