Andreea Mitrut

I am a Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg, where I am currently the PhD Program Director.

I am an Affiliated Researcher at SITE, Stockholm School of Economics and at the J-PAL, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab.  During  the last five years I was a regular visiting scholar at SIPA, Columbia University.

My expertise and current interests are at the intersection of labor economics, public economics, and political economy. I have contributed to different streams of literature, including on Early Child Development, Fertility and Family Planning, Education, Corruption, and Social Exclusion. 

My research was featured in the international media, including the BBC news, the Romanian National news, Realitatea TV news (RO), and The Independent (UK), The Telegraph (UK), GöteborgPosten (SE), Evenimentul Zilei (RO), Gandul (RO), Adevarul (RO). 

I am currently funded by the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (The Swedish Central Bank) (RJ), the Swedish Research Council (VR), as well as by the Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius Research Foundation (Handelsbanken).
