Our WPI AWM Student Chapter is proud to host an AWM Speaker Series on campus, where invited speakers are encouraged to discuss their journeys as women mathematicians into careers in academia and industry along with their research interests and mathematical contributions. Please see our chapter website for more information on upcoming and past speakers!

Sonia Kovalevsky Days (SK Days) @ WPI

Named in honor of her mathematical contributions, Sonia Kovalevsky Days (or SK Days) are nationally-held, locally-organized outreach events with the aim of supporting and encouraging young women to continue their study of mathematics; for more info from the AWM, please see https://awm-math.org/programs/math-outreach/ .

Our AWM Student Chapter has hosted SK Day outreach events for local 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls at WPI annually each spring since 2019. SK Days at WPI aim to bolster our participants’ passion and enthusiasm for mathematics in a supportive environment, while meeting girls in the New England area who share similar interests and, of course, having fun!
