Introduction


My name is Abbas Zaidi. I am a recent PhD from the Department of Statistical Science at Duke University in Durham, NC. I received my B.S. in Economics and Statistics (2012) and my Masters of Statistical Practice (2013) from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. My current research interests are in causal inference using machine learning and Bayesian statistics with a focus on applications in economics under Sayan Mukherjee and Fan Li. In the past, I was employed as a Quantitative Financial Analyst at Bank of America-Merril Lynch. During the summer of 2017 I was employed as a data science intern at MaxPoint Interactive and during the summer of 2018, I was employed as a quantitative research analyst intern at Google (YouTube). I am currently employed as a causal inference researcher at Facebook Research & Development.
