Other R&D Projects:

• Portugol Viana: is a project whose main goal was to improve the teaching-learning process in programming syllabus. In this project, the algoritmic language PortugolViana has been developed, as an extension of Portugol. PortugolViana adds to Portugol the possibility of defining functions with parameters (by value and by reference), creating new data types, structures, linked lists and double linked lists. A new tool (PortugolViana), has been developed for editing, verifying the syntax, interpreting the Portugol Viana language, debugging and animating Portugol Viana algorithms.

ESTG-IPVC Internal R&D Projects:

The following projects aimed to bring R&D towards students of graduating and post-graduating programs, namely Informatics Engineering and Master of Software Engineering, making them develop several hard skills and the following soft skills:

• Working as part of a team;

• Being creative and curious;

• Being able to focus on self tasks, without losing the global project perspective;

• Having English writing skills;

• Having speaking skills before an audience;

• Learning to improve work and performance from criticism.

• Amália Project: is a R&D project taking place at the Higher School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Amália stands for Agile Model-driven AppLIcAtion Development Method and Tools. Start: Sept. 2013  End: 2018.

• Cante Project: is an R&D project taking place at the Higher School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Cante aims the exploration of voice interfaces. Start: Sept. 2015  End: 2017.

• CyPhy Project: is an R&D project taking place at the Higher School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. CyPhy aims the research of Model-driven Techniques for Cyber-Physical Systems. Start: Sept. 2015  End: 2018.
