CCTV is now considered crucial in both crime prevention and detection. The applications of CCTV systems are increasingly incorporated in home security and commercial security systems, staff surveillance, anti-theft surveillance and access control surveillance. This approach provides the users with ultimate deterrent that is both visible and effective.

Home CCTV system generally consists of outdoor security cameras incorporating night vision and weatherproof, a digital video recorder to record and store images and a CCTV monitor or a home TV to view the CCTV images.

Where incidence occurs, the CCTV system will provide acceptable evidence from the recording/storage equipment to the prosecuting authorities.

The specification of a CCTV system will comply as far as we can ensure to the police evidential requirements where applicable and will comply with National Security Inspectorate (NSI) code of practice NCP 104 (Design, installation and maintenance of CCTV systems) including the requiremnts of BS EN 50132-7.

To comply with the Data Protection Act, CCTV system may need to be registered by the users and CCTV warning signs should be displayed.
