We are hiring a postdoctoral researcher to join the WOMADE (Working Class Women and the Politics of Manufacturing Decline) project at the University of Milan (UNIMI) in Milan, Italy.

The postdoc will join the WOMADE project (PI: Anne-Marie Jeannet). WOMADE investigates how manufacturing decline has reconfigured the way that working-class women participate in politics. It documents how working-class female political sub-culture has changed due to women’s occupational restructuring to establish how working class women reconcile the competing influences of female emancipation and economic restructuring on their political behavior. The position will be based at the Department of Social and Political Science at the University of Milan. The position is fully in English, knowledge of Italian is not required.
The postdoc will contribute to the following main task areas:
1. conduct analysis of longitudinal survey data in a quantitative framework
2. write scientific articles for international peer reviewed journals and attend two international conferences
3. Participate in project activities as a WOMADE team member

· Location: Milan, Italy (remote work negotiable)
· Language requirement: English (Italian is NOT necessary)
· Expected salary range: approximately 2790 EUR per month after taxes (annual 33.563 EUR)
· Expected start date: September 1, 2024
· Duration: 15 months
· Relevant candidate expertise: statistical analysis, survey data, knowledge of statistical software (R/STATA). interest in gender or social class is preferred but not necessary
· PhD in Social Science preferred but not required at start date

We are hiring a postdoctoral researcher to join the PACES (Making migration and migration policy decisions amidst societal transformations) team at the University of Milan (UNIMI) in Milan, Italy.

The postdoc will join the PACES project (PI: Simona Vezzoni; UNIMI Local Lead: Anne-Marie Jeannet).
PACES is a research programme (2023-2026) funded by the European Union’s Horizon2020 scheme. The project investigates the factors shaping migration decision making and the theories of change underpinning migration policies. The PACES research consortium is led by the International Institute of Social Statues and brings together 11 partners and 3 associated partners including: the University of Leiden, University of Amsterdam, the University of Manchester and Duke University. The position will be based at the Department of Social and Political Science at the University of Milan. The position is fully in English, knowledge of Italian is not required.
The postdoc will collaborate with other PACES members in the following main task areas:
1. design a cross-national conjoint experiment about public opinion about migration in six European countries
2. analyze original survey experiment and write scientific articles for international peer reviewed journals
3. Participate in project activities as a PACES team member
