Expirations by Future Date

Expiration by Years Into the Future

An analysis of expiration by years into the future, tells us a little about the when changes might occur in the number of licensed amateurs.  The number is limited by the behavior of people who do not renew their licenses.  Although the tabulation selects the number of "active" licensees, the ten-year license term makes it difficult to know exactly how many licensees are actually active.  For example, an example a licensee who renews for 10 years, but then passes away is not active, but remains in the tabulation until after the license expiration date.

Excludes expirations that are listed in the data file but have an expiration date prior to the date of analysis. The graph excludes the 10th year because that number drops substantially and distorts the rest of the graph.
