Casual for a Cause

On September 30, 2011, Saint Joseph School in Wakefield, MA held Casual for a Cause day to raise money for the Alyssa L. Nanopoulos Memorial Scholarship at Austin Preparatory School in Reading, MA. The entire school had the opportunity to donate $1.00 to dress in the colors purple (Alyssa's favorite color) or yellow (signifying Alyssa's love for ducks).  The event was coordinated by Marty Connerty, the 8th grade teacher at Saint Joseph School. Her organization and tender touch made the event a wonderful tribute to Alyssa's memory. Below is one of the posters created by the students to raise awareness of the event.
