phd physics, wide reader, ultrarunner

I have relocated to Austin, Texas and happily employed in the Tech sector. I was previously an Associate Specialist at the University of California Irvine (2016-2018) and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at St. Anthony Falls Laboratory, University of Minnesota (2012-2016). My research interests include: i). Transport and vulnerability assessment in deltas, ii). Debris flows, iii). Anomalous diffusion and nonlocal transport experiments, iv). Network robustness analysis, and v). Coupling river dynamics and ecology.

I obtained a PhD Physics degree from the University of the Philippines (2011), where I also worked as an Instructor (2006-2011) and Assistant Professor (2011-2012). My dissertation was entitled "Experimental techniques in Granular Systems and Psychophysics" under the supervision of Dr. Christopher Monterola and Professor Caesar Saloma from the Complex Systems Group of the Instrumentation Physics Laboratory.
