Dr. Kumar is currently an Instructor and Investigator at the Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC), Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on artificial organ design, 3D bioprinting, and tissue engineering. He has authored more than 36 peer-reviewed research publications and is the co-inventor of four patent applications.
Dr. Kumar earned his Ph.D. in Biomaterials from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), India, in July 2013. He also holds a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, as well as a Master's degree in Physics with a specialization in Astrophysics.
