rx100
Yamaha RX100
POWER TO THE PEOPLE
Nimble, light, peppy, deliciously quick and utterly reliable... thats what the dictionary should say about the
RX100. Bikes will come and bikes will go.... but there will never be an RX100 again.
Introduced in 1985 this dream bike (simply called "RX") was everything for everyone. Reliable transport to
the family man, performace bike for the youth, and the ultimate wow factor for those too young to ride.
I was a part of this last group.
Available in 6 colors: Cherry Red, Metallic Blue, Black, Silver, Peacock Blue-Green and Wine Red.
Black and Cherry Red were by far the most common colors but the red did age rather badly, finally
deteriorating to a shade close to the faded BEST buses!!!!!
In the late eighties and early nineties the black RX was so popular that it was not uncommon to see a
dozen or so at a traffic signal vrooming away in a cloud of heavenly two-stroke smoke.
The bike also gained notoreity as it was often used by chain snatchers and gangsters and so it isnt
surprising to be pulled over by a traffic cop at a routine check while all other bikes go scott free
