Our research interests lie at the intersection of photonics and computing. We focus on developing methods, devices, and systems that harness the power of light for advanced information processing and computing. Photonics offers significant advantages over traditional electronics, particularly in energy efficiency, high bandwidth, and speed, making it a promising technology for revolutionizing high-performance computing.
Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuits. One of the main goals of our research is to develop and refine novel programmable photonic circuits that offer smaller footprints for improved scalability, while also being flexible enough to tolerate fabrication errors effectively. Programmable photonic integrated circuits represent an emerging technology that amalgamates photonics and electronics, paving the way for light-based information processing at high speeds and low power consumption, with potential applications in broad areas ranging from data centers to quantum computing.Â
