Ali Kadhum IDREES. received his Ph.D. degree in computer science in 2015 from the University of Franche-Comte (UFC), France. He received his HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) degree in October 2023 from the Université Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (UBFC), France. The HDR diploma refers to the habilitation to conduct research, which is a recognition of the highest level of qualification in the French academic system. Ali has been a full professor of computer science at the University of Babylon, Iraq, since 2018. He is currently as Research Associate at Smart-Edge-Lab, University of Applied Science and Arts Dortmund. He works on EMULATE to develop concepts and solutions for measuring, analyzing and optimizing the performance of edge services in the European cloud-edge continuum. He has published over 80 research papers in international journals, conferences, and book chapters. His research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), edge/fog computing, Deep/Machine learning, wireless networks, WSNs, WBSNs, IoMTs, tactile internet, distributed computing, data mining, deep learning, and optimization in communication networks. He has actively served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for various conferences, as well as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.
