Alicja’s Burlesque Variety Show

Dear Friends,

We are happy to inform you that a wonderful charity event, “Alicja’s Burlesque Variety Show”, took place at the Crane Lane Theatre in Cork on Sunday 20th of November 2011. It started at 2pm with a market that included cake sale, hand made jewellery and beauty products sale as well as massage and nail care for those, who were interested. Children could enjoy clowns, balloon man and mini disco. In the evening, a great burlesque event took place with samba, capoeira, rock groups’ concerts and raffles with wonderful prices.

It was a really beautiful and touching event, but it was also great fun. It feels good to know that, while we are going through one of the most difficult periods in our lives, so many people are ready to help us, to offer their time and money to support us.

We cannot thank enough everyone who has supported us by participating in our Sunday event. We wish to thank all the people who came, sponsors, supporters and performers. We have no words to thank our wonderful organizers and presenters: Jolanta Rudnik, Nina Ferreira, Aoife Whitford, Patrycja Tarchanow Krajewska and Anna Soares. You were really amazing girls!

We are very grateful to everyone who has helped with the organization as well as everyone who has performed. Our special thanks go to the following companies and associations: the Manager and the staff of The Crane Lane Theartre in Cork (for hosting the event), Tara Moloney and Starwood Community Outreach Committee, Smyths, My Cork Polish Association, Badacz and respective General Managers of Starwood hotels in Barcelona: 4 Points by Sheraton Diagonal, W Barcelona, Le Meridien Barcelona (for offering the raffle prizes).

We are happy to inform you, that we have raised €2,632.25 for Alicja’s leg surgery on that Sunday only, which is a great result. Even though we know, we are still far from our goal, we are sure, that with such a great help, we will eventually be able to raise all the money needed for Alicja’s surgery.

In conclusion, we are sending you one of Alicja’s pictures with a big “Thank you” smile. We are sure, if she could, she would give you all a big hug.
