Alfonso Rosolia is Director in the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of the Bank of Italy. He graduated summa cum laude from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) in 1995, where in the same year he also also completed a Master in Economics, and holds a PhD in Economics awarded from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). His interests are in labour, applied economics and macroeconomics. His research has appeared in the American Economic Review and in the Journal of Labor Economics, among others. He joined the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of the Bank of Italy in 2000 and is currently Deputy Head of the Statistical Analysis Directorate. Formerly, he has been Head of the Sample surveys Division in the Statistical Analysis Directorate (2016-2020) and Deputy Head of the Labour Market and Economic Structure Division in the Structural Economic Directorate (2014-2015).
