The Exhibition Alan Turing, Legacies for Computing and Humanity will open in Goiânia (Brazil) on Monday 14th October and will continue until 14 November 2013. In honour of Alan Turing, the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) conceived the exhibition, curated by Prof. Dante Barone, celebrating the centenary of this brilliant scientist, in 2012. In its itinerant version, now in Goiânia, the exhibition will feature the display of banners, multimedia material, lectures and workshops.
The banners, organized into five modules, depict ( 1 ) The life and work of Alan Turing, as well as its major contributions in ( 2 ) Encryption ( 3 ) Turing machine, Mathematics and computability, ( 4 ) Fiction, robotics and ethics and ( 5 ) Weak x Strong Artificial Intelligence.
The play entitled " Breaking Codes," will be presented on 17/10 , with the presence of the actor Carlos Palma enacting, in the form of a monologue, the life of Alan Turing.
The talks scheduled along the period of the exhibition include the following presentations:

- 23 /10, "Decidable problems and Undecidable Problems : The Legacy of Alan Turing", Prof. Ruy de Queiroz ( CIN / UFPE )
- 30/10, "Can a machine think ? " - Alan Turing (1950 ), Prof. Cedric Carvalho ( INF / UFG )
- 04 /11, "Alan Turing : Reflections on Life and Work of the Forerunner of the XXI Century", Prof. Dante Barone ( INF / UFRGS )
- 06 /11, "Turing thesis and Incompleteness Church", Prof. André Porto ( Philosophy / UFG )
- 13/11, "Turing and morphogenesis", Prof. Marcelo Walter ( INF / UFRGS )
Various workshops for pupils of elementary schools from the city of Goiânia will also be offered. They will address topics such as Robotics , Encryption and Electronic Games.
