Led and performed original research in video analytics, compressive sensing, digital signal processing, diagnostics and prognostics, and embedded computer architecture. Teamed with university partner on government contracts.

Formed and led team for Automating Human Inspection, developing video analytics for manufacturing that saved $16M+ in the first 6 months and averted 21 field problems. Granted 6 patents (to date), and received 9th Outstanding Achievement Award.

Wrote proposals including DARPA Mathematics of Sensing, Exploitation and Execution (MSEE), ONR Compressive Sensing, Air Force Field Assessment Signature Tool (FAST), winning contracts for $4M+.

Developed strategic plans for Compressive Sensing Research, Autonomous Vehicle Perception, Wireless Communication, and Fire Protection, initiating research projects in areas with $4M+ IRAD funding.Granted 9 patents, and received 8th Outstanding Achievement Award.

Led HVAC prognostics and helicopter life extension projects and innovation team for elevator position reference system, managing adaptive controls, implementation, and diagnostics for CO2 Heat Pump. Granted 9 patents, received 5th and 6th Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Developed hands-free Cabin Communication System (CCS) that uses beamforming microphones, acoustic echo cancellation, and Wiener noise filtering for enhanced passenger communication in minivans, helicopters, etc., by designing DSP algorithms, performing systems-level optimization, building hardware demonstrator, and providing demonstrations to OEMs to secure launch customer. Granted 7 patents, and received 4th Outstanding Achievement Award.

Contributed to design of next generation sonar signal processor by establishing high-level simulation methodology; wrote custom simulator; developed critical hardware and software optimizations for shared memory multiprocessor. Major contributor to successful $20M proposal and $15M sole-source Award.

Led strategic planning team for Active Noise and Vibration Control (ANVC) research, won funding by developing long-term plan, establishing program, designing message passing multiprocessor laboratory controller and ANVC products for helicopter division. Granted 1 patent, and received 2nd and 3rd Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Invented reliable remote-entry products with cryptographically secure user authentication for automotive division, performing analysis of competitor’s products, achieving patent protection and increasing market share for division. Generated $155M+ in new sales through 2001.Granted 8 patents, and received 1st Outstanding Achievement Award.
