• North Region SELPA Parent Handbook
• Organizing your Child’s Information
Part One: North Region SELPA will present its new Special Education Parent
Handbook and request feedback and input from parents.
Part Two: CAC parent(s) will show and discuss organizational strategies to
help parents manage all of the information and paperwork needed to support
their children. ALL: Please feel free to bring ideas to share!

ALAMEDA LITTLE LEAGUE CHALLENGER DIVISION REGISTRATION OPEN
The 2017 season marks the 3rd season of the Challenger Division in Alameda Little League. Challenger Division was established by Little League International to enable boys and girls with special needs to enjoy the game of baseball.
If your child resides in the City of Alameda, or the child attends a school in the Alameda School District, or in a neighboring city and might be interested in participating in the Challenger Division, please register for the upcoming season.
Registration fee for the upcoming Challenger Division season is $50.
Special scholarships are also available.

This is an event to help facilitate a successful transition from school to adult services for youth with developmental disabilities and their families. The Transition Faire includes an educational showcase of adult service programs and a variety of educational workshops. The Transition Faire is an interagency collaboration of the Alameda County Developmental Disabilities Council, Public Health, Regional Center of the East Bay, College of Alameda, and local school districts.

Free Childcare for Alameda's November 16th Meeting
The ABLE Act allows people with disabilities who acquired their disability before the age of 26 to save up to $100K while on benefits.
This means that people who receive SSI or other types of Social Security benefits
will soon be able to save more than the current $2,000 limit when they open an ABLE account.
Before California’s ABLE accounts become available, the CalABLE Act Board needs to hear from you!
Let’s shape what our California ABLE accounts look like together.

CalABLE Act Stakeholder Meetings
California Achieving a Better Life Experience (CalABLE) is a new program that will allow people with disabilities to establish tax-advantaged savings accounts with the ability to save up to $14,000 per year and up to $100,000 in total without losing vital public benefits such as Medi-Cal, SSI or SSDI.
CalABLE want to hear from you! California is the only state that is actively soliciting the input of it future participants in the development of the ABLE Program.
Alameda County has 5 stakeholder meetings during the first 2 weeks of November. Please attend and advocate your wants & needs of the ABLE Act for California.

Citywide Transportation Workshop and Survey
Please save-the-date for the second community workshop on the citywide Transit and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan on Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mastick Senior Center Social Hall at 1155 Santa Clara Avenue. City staff and the consultant team will request input on preliminary strategies to help improve transportation in Alameda.
Please share your thoughts on transportation issues by completing a brief web survey that is part of this citywide transportation planning effort: http://www.peakdemocracy.com/portals/198/forum_home. This web survey asks some of the same questions that are part of a citywide telephone survey on transportation.
The citywide Transit and TDM Plan’s purpose is to help ensure that Alameda sustains its high quality of life during a time of population growth throughout the Bay Area region. During this 18-month citywide planning effort, the City will identify opportunities for strategic transportation investment and coordination with transit providers to provide Alamedans with enhanced transportation options while reducing congestion, our carbon footprint and air pollution.
All community members are welcome to participate in any of the following outreach activities:
