About Me: Dr.M.Mani is currently working as the Librarian at Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College (Autonomous), Chennai. He has published 7 articles in National Journals and 16 articles in International Journals. He has presented many papers at National and International Conferences and Seminars. He has contributed 5 chapters in edited books. He is an advisor for many new institutions to setup libraries. He has conducted many Seminars, Workshops, Student Development Programme (SDP), Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) and Training Programmes. He has participated in many Workshops, Seminars, FDP, and Symposium at International, National and State Levels.He is a life member of KLA, IALA, SALIS, MALA, ALA, ILA, ILIS, and IARA. He is nominated as one of the organizing/Advisory and Zonal committee members at many International, National and State level conferences, seminars and workshops at various institutions. He has delivered many invited talks and acted as Resource Persons at various venues. He has acted as a judge for many competitions. He has created blog and web node at many institutions. He served as Chair Person / Co-Chair / Rapporteur at various conferences, seminars at International and National levels. He is also a PRO at SALIS Tirunelveli Chapter. He is the Library Advisory Committee member of few Institutions. He was a Library Liaison Officer Sadakathullah Appa College. He received the Best Performer Award from AKY Polytechnic College; National Best Librarian Award 2017 from Madras Library Association (MALA); Best College Library Staff: Award 2017from Lions Club of Tirunelveli Green City & Team Trust Tirunelveli; Best Research Scholar Award 2019 from Indian Academic Researchers Association (IARA) Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu and Autolib Tamil Nadu Young Best Librarian Award 2021 from SALIS.He organizes Library Week Celebration, Dr.S.R.Ranganathan birthday celebration and World Book Day celebration in various schools every year in order to inculcate the reading habits and create awareness about the importance of Reading among the students and conducted competitions like essay writing, elocution, drawing, quizzes, cross-word puzzles. His areas of research interest include User Studies, E-Resources and Library Management.
