Brief Bio
I am a Chief Scientist (Artificial Intelligence) at Seeing Machines, Inc. headquarters based in Canberra (ACT, Australia).
I lead the Research group which specializes in the development and deployment of cutting-edge 2D and 3D algorithms for full-body tracking, efficient object detection, dense image segmentation, monocular depth estimation, network quantization, quantization-aware training and low-precision (4-bit) models inference.
In my previous life, I was a Marie Curie Research Fellow in the iBUG group at Imperial College London. My research at Imperial was supported by the Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship (MC-IIF) 2012. Before coming to Imperial, I completed my PhD in Computer Vision from the Research School of Engineering, Australian National University (Canberra, Australia). My research at ANU was mainly supported by the AUSAID Australian Leadership Award Scholarship (2008-2012). During my PhD, I also worked at the Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab (MERL) in Cambridge (MA, USA) and the Robotics Institute (RI), Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh (PA, USA).
Research Interest
My current research focuses on the problems that lie at the intersection of computer vision, machine learning and deep learning with a main focus on non-rigid object registration and tracking. I am interested in Full Body Tracking and Gesture Analysis, Object Detection, Network Compression, Vision Transformers, Sequential Data Analysis, Synthetic Data Generation, Unsupervised and Weakly-Supervised Learning and Self-Supervised Learning.
