Institutions we have funded are detailed below.

The AJRC grant-making utilized a straightforward and standardized Spanish-language electronic application process. We solicit and carefully evaluate grant applications, and typically make grants of $3,000 to 5,000 (smaller and larger grants have been made). Grantees must provide full expense accounting. Our members regularly travel to Argentina and evaluate potential grantees, in addition to counting with local representatives who voluntarily assist us in this process, as well as with delivering funds and monitoring grant use.

Unlike many other organizations which only focus on the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, we support institutions in the country’s interior. We are aware of the aid provided by other NGOs, and we endeavor to address lacunae and complement the work of other funders. We work with the entire spectrum of the Argentine Jewish community, and a number of our grantees partner with Caritas (a Catholic organization) to reach a larger population more effectively.

The tax-exempt status of donations to the AJRC is provided by Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston. We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with CJP; receiving back-office support for publicity and fundraising, while maintaining our own grant making process and control over every dollar donated to the AJRC.
