The charitable recycled tote bag project (Castlereagh Industries) for Vinnies stores repurposes damaged denim jeans into saleable tote bags giving new life to discarded clothing.
Cardboard construction could feature in a materials project. It is another low cost and interesting area to explore.
Products such as Makedo can be used to join cardboard pieces for small or large scale construction.
In these next examples students create helmets that could be used for dressing characters for video production, historical reenactment, fancy dress or drama.
