AsSalaam-u-Alaykum Dear Brother/Sister in Islam,

مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ يُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَھُمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ اَنْۢبَتَتْ سَـبْعَ سَـنَابِلَ فِيْ كُلِّ سُنْۢبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ ۭوَاللّٰهُ يُضٰعِفُ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۗءُ ۭ وَاللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ٢٦١؁

جو لوگ اپنا مال اللہ تعالیٰ کی راہ میں خرچ کرتے ہیں اس کی مثال اس دانے جیسی ہے جس میں سے سات بالیاں نکلیں اور ہر بالی میں سے سو دانے ہوں، اور اللہ تعالیٰ اسے چاہے اور بڑھا دے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کشادگی والا اور علم والا ہے۔ البقرہ 261

 The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like (that) grain out of which seven ears shoot forth(And then) each ear bears a hundred grains (i.e. they are rewarded seven hundred times) And Allah multiplies (still more) for whom He like. Allah is Bounteous, Knowing. (Al Baqara 261)

We have setup a charity organization “aik rupya rozana” that will work towards betterment of underprivileged masses. The basic idea is to contribute at least “one unit of currency per day per family member” so that this does not become burden on anyone. For a family of 6 people at 1Rs. /day it will only be Rs. 2,190 per year.

As we know that that is hardly enough to carry out any worthwhile effort unless and until we have a large group of contributors. Therefore we will have to make up for it by asking good hearted folks like yourself to donate more than 1 Rs./family member/per day.

Under the umbrella of “aik rupya rozana” we are requesting your generous help for the following projects.

1. WATER

Water projects in far away areas of Pakistan where drinking water is scarce. Currently setting up water well or hand pumps in Sindh and Baluchistan.

a. Goal: 5 wells

b. Cost per well: 165,000

c. total cost: 825,000

2. FREE BLOOD BANK

To offer free of cost blood transfusion services in Lahore

a. Goal: 1 blood bank

b. estimated cost: 300,000

note: this is just to setup the blood bank; the running cost would be additional and not mentioned here.

3. FREE AMBULANCE SERVICE

To offer free of cost ambulance service in Lahore. One ambulance is already in service, we want to add one more ambulance

a. Goal: add one more ambulance

b. Estimated Cost: 700,000

note: this is just to add one more vehicle to the fleet. The running cost would be additional and not mentioned here.

4. ROZGAR SCHEME

To help the needy families to setup small business so that they may earn a living for themselves rather than begging or starving

a. Goal: identify and help 12 families

b. amount per family: 10,000

c. total cost: 120,000

5. EDUCATION SCHEME

To help the needy families educate their kids. This includes the tuition/fees, books and uniform

a. Goal: identify and help 25 students

b. average monthly cost per student: 500

c. total cost: 150,000

As you will see that not only these are all worthy projects, but all of these also qualify for the Zakat. So not only that we would appreciate your help but also strongly encourage you to introduce us to your family and friends.
