My name is Chris Aiken and I am a physics and computer science teacher at Eastlake High School. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Physics from the University of California Davis and earned my M.Ed. and teaching credential from the University of California San Diego. I have spent time with students of all ages, and enjoyed my time learning from many experienced teachers. Probably the silliest thing I have done in a classroom was with a 4th grade science teacher. She accumulated dozens of hats from different gift shops that resembled animals from all over the world, so our lesson was a hat fashion show complete with animal noises and acting. Students of all ages should have access to resources and experiments that allow them to practice important skills and to discover scientific phenomena for themselves.
I enjoy swimming, hiking, basketball (most sports really), and eating delicious food. I played tuba in the school band during middle & high school and now I make attempts to learn guitar. I learned many creative and mechanical skills from my dad who likes to build stuff, and asks me things like "Do you have any friends who like to solder?"
