Members on this page are graduate students who are working outside the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University; either in other departments in the school or in other organizations under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia

i- PhD Students

Gehad is a researcher in the Central Labs of the Egyptian Ministry of Health. She obtained her Master's from Cairo University working with Dr. Attia on the development of a Moraxella catarrhalis novel peptide-based vaccine that was designed through immunoinformatics. For her Ph.D. thesis, Gehad is working on understanding how Acinetobacter baumannii is causing human cell death. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Noha Elhosseiny, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University.

2- Noha Ramadan, MSc.

Noha is a pharmacist in Petrojet Co. and a part-time teaching assistant in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr University for Science & Technology (MUST). For her Ph.D. thesis, Noha is working on the development of a diagnostic kit for HCV. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Tamer Samir, Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr University for Science & Technology (MUST).

3- Dina Othman, MSc.

Dina is a pharmacist and a previous teaching assistant in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr International University (MIU). For her Ph.D. thesis, Dina is working on understanding the role of stress evading proteins in the physiology and phenotypic characteristics of Moraxella catarrhalis . Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Noha Elhosseiny, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University and Dr. Wafaa El-Tayeb, Faculty of Pharmacy, Misr International University (MIU).

4- Akram El Ahmar, MSc.

Akram obtained his Master's in biotechnology from Syria. His PhD thesis project is focusing on the deep investigation of the key A. baumannii T2SS substrates on the genetic and funcational levels. His project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Noha Elhosseiny from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University..

5- Dina Mostafa, MSc.

Dina obtained her Master's working on the preliminary investigation of Staphylococcus epidermidis exo-proteome in a quest for diagnostic targets. Her PhD project is focusing on manipulating the oral microbiota for better care of the teeth. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia and Hanzada Noureldin of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, and Dr. Yomna Abdelgawad at the British University in Egypt.

ii- Masters Students:

1- Doaa AlaaEldin

Doaa is a researcher in the Central Labs of the Egyptian Ministry of Health. Her Master's thesis project is focusing on more understanding of the interactions taking place in poly-microbial infections in Egyptian hospitals. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Noha Elhosseiny, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University.

2- Ahmed Skawky

Ahmed is a teaching assistant in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Sinai University, Arish Branch. His Master's thesis project is focusing on collecting and screening microbial isolates for potential conventional and non-conventional antimicrobial agents again the formidable pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii. His project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Aya Mousa, Faculty of Pharmacy, Sinai University.

3- Eman Mamdouh

Eman is a teaching assistant in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Sinai University, Arish Branch. Her Master's thesis project is focusing on finding new antimicrobial agents targeting biofilms formation. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Aya Mousa, Faculty of Pharmacy, Sinai University.

4- Hadeer El-Kazaz

Hadeer is a Clinical Pharmacy graduate from the University of Mansoura. Her Master's thesis project is focusing on studying the possible role of genetic polymorphisms and the long-term COVID-19. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Noha Elhosseiny, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, and Dr. Tamer Elhadidy, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University.

5- Esraa Ashraf

Esraa is a Clinical Pharmacy graduate from Cairo University Her Master's thesis project is focusing on studying the oral microbiome of Egyptians and how it is affected by smoking. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Mariam Hassan, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University

6- Esraa Elmasry

Esraa is a teaching assistant at Misr University for Science & Technology. Her Master's thesis project is focusing on understanding the interplay between potassium limitation and gene regulation in Acinetobacter baumannii. Her project is under the joint supervision of Dr. Attia together with Dr. Noha Elhosseiny, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, and Dr. Tamer Samir from Misr University for Science & Technology.
