Full-time PhD scholarships funded from Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) are available for outstanding candidates who have strong interests in the research areas of Privacy and Security (especially in at the intersection of privacy-enhancing technologies, machine learning, and applied cryptography). The scholarship provides both tuition fee waiver and cost of living allowances.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a brief research proposal of no more than four pages for either one of the topics below:
• Secure Analytics of Healthcare Data On The Cloud,
• Security and Privacy Enhancing Technologies for Medical Data Sharing,
However, any outstanding research proposals in the applications of Information security and privacy in the healthcare domain are always welcome.
To be eligible for these PhD scholarships, candidates should meet the following criteria:
• Completed a first-class honours or Masters degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics or Computer Engineering , or a related discipline
• Demonstrated knowledge in Machine Learning, Data Mining, or Statistical Analysis Methods
• Demonstrated strong programming skills, in particular Dot Net, Java or Python
• Demonstrated good oral and written English communication skills
• Knowledge of different anonymization and cryptographic techniques is an advantage
• Publication output will be additional assessment criterion
