dev phases

    • 03 Nov 2015

    • after years of experience i have a very simplified approach to developing projects

    • create a story of the system & its possibilities

    • make sure it ties into the real world of today

    • for everything must be transitioned into

    • edit edit edit the story

    • get as many different perspectives giving feedback as possible

    • both from likeminded & from different-minded folk

    • determine if there's anything that can be patented/protected

    • make the call to go for protection or just be first to market

    • then create a mockup/prototype

    • including as much as you can with $0 input into this effort

    • prove the concept can really be built

    • as quickly as possible move into the crowd-sourced funding model

    • tell the same story but now with video and a more tangible tool - the mockup/prototype

    • see if people are willing to actually give $ toward developing further your idea

    • is it really delivering something they want or need in their life?

    • grow the dev team as the process unfolds

    • don't worry too much about ownership

    • but definitely outline how it will work

    • hope & pray that the project has a somewhat steady climb upward toward archiving milestone goals

    • build a network of interest

    • this must reach a critical mass before a lot of $ is thrown at it

    • everyone will know what this is along the dev path

    • assuming you attain the critical mass of interest

    • then it's time to start looking for serious dev capital

    • then everything changes

    • then everything must be done a certain legal way

    • then it gets uglier
