Piano

As a teacher, I am here to facilitate independent musicianship and consistent progress, as these are great indicators of whether students play for a year or a lifetime.  I am of the belief that anyone can learn to play piano if they are curious about patterns, dedicated to practice, and willing to share their personal experience of the music.  Together, our goal will be to convey the message and the character intended by the composer in a way that touches the audience with fresh perspective.

Beginner through Intermediate 

• Piano Adventures Series:  technique, notation, sightreading, theory, interpretation, and performance skills are sequentially introduced through fun and integrated lessons  

Advanced 

• Works of major composers:  emulate the character of each time period through increasing knowledge of scales, chords and technique with emphasis on agility and expression  

All students 

• Favourites from any genre:  notation, chords, and lead sheets to familiar songs - pop, rock, musical theatre, movies, hymns, jazz, blues, country - you name it
