Research and professional motivations
A mechanistic understanding of dynamics of the pollutants in soil and water environments is crucial as this underpins towards the development of models and tools. Such incisive decision tools are employed for assessing the soil and water quality reliably, and subsequently managing the soil and water resources appropriately. My objectives are to study the dynamics of inorganic and organic pollutants in soil and water at larger scale (e.g., watershed scale), developing risk assessment maps, and developing sustainable mitigation strategies to reduce pollutant loads into water bodies.
