Hello,

A warm welcome to my page. Currently I am working at TCS Research, Tata Consultancy Services, Kolkata in Connected Health segment as a scientist. I am mainly working as Computer Vision (2D and 3D) and Machine Learning expert in the group. Earlier I was a part of the Cognitive Robotics Research Group where I have contribution for such works as 3D reconstruction of indoor scene from monocular images (for such applications as automatic navigation and teleoperation) audio driven facial animation (for avatar creation). I have done PhD (Computer Science) under the supervision of Prof. Dipti Prasad Mukherjee at Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit, Indian Statistical Institute (an institute of national importance), Kolkata, India. Prior to joining ISI, I have attained bachelor degree in computer science (rank: 1st in the university) from Raja Narendra Lal Khan Women's College (NAAC accredited A institute), Vidyasagar University, Midnapore  and master degree in computer science (rank: 2nd in the university) from Visvabharati University (a central university). 

My interests include Machine Learning including Deep Learning, Computer Vision 2D/3D (I am learning 3D CV) and Affective Computing (Emotional Intelligence in layman/woman's language). My research during PhD concentrated on computer vision specifically on analysis of facial expressions.  This is a field where machine learning and computer vision meet with psychology. We try to make computers emotionally intelligent (EI). I envision a new generation Emotionally Intelligent  (EI) AI that has the following characteristics. 

• Can understand the users' emotions.

• Can interact with and influence the emotions of the users .

• Can interact at individual level and at mass scale too.

•  A complete EI package utilizing different channels such as face, audio, text, gesture etc. 

This automated system can be used by 

• psychologists to assist them in analyzing patients, 

• by corporate/academic offices for monitoring and boosting the workers' mood,

• by law enforcement authorities for deception detection in criminology.,

• in Human Computer Interaction, robotics ,

• in animation  and media industry among others.
