Foot & Ankle Principles for AHPs: Introductory course
Bournemouth, 15/05/26
This unique learning opportunity, available only to AFAP members, is running again in 2026. This course was originally developed to help support BOFAS NHS consultants develop AHPs working within their F&A team, but the course has now been opened out to all AFAP members.
This course is aimed at those who want to advance their foot and ankle examination and management skills. This is a core clinical skills course – although some imaging may be shown over the course of the day this is not a radiology course.
We aim to run the course run every year, alternating between an introductory beginner and an advanced level (the advanced course is tailored to those who have been specialising within the foot & ankle for more than two years).
The 2026 course is being hosted by Consultant Foot & Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeon Nikki Kelsall from the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
Date: Friday 15th May 2026
Location: The Village Hotel, Bournemouth
Time: 09:45 – 16:30 (late start in order to help people travel that morning, thereby avoiding accommodation costs)
Cost: £95 (the course is supported and generously subsidised by BOFAS)
