Kongju National University (KNU) and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) have signed an agreement to operate a Joint Ph.D. Degree Program beginning in Fall 2026. The program will be jointly administered by KNU’s Department of Future Convergence Engineering and UNL’s Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
Participating students will enroll at both universities, conduct research under the joint supervision of faculty members from KNU and UNL, and complete the academic and dissertation requirements of both institutions. Successful candidates will receive a jointly awarded Ph.D. degree bearing the names of both universities.
Prof. Dongkyoung Lee played a leading role in developing the partnership through research collaboration, student exchanges, and institutional discussions with UNL. The agreement represents an important milestone in expanding global education and research opportunities for KNU students.
