Kongju National University announced that Prof. Dongkyoung Lee of the Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering recently visited the University of Bologna in Italy to advance international academic cooperation and initiate a new framework for collaborative research. The visit took place from late February to early March 2026 and was organized as part of the university’s broader effort to strengthen global research capacity and build sustainable international partnerships in connection with the Glocal University 30 initiative.
During the visit, Prof. Lee met with several distinguished faculty members at the University of Bologna, including Prof. Alessandro Fortunato, Prof. Alessandro Ascari, Prof. Rocco Vertechy, Prof. Antonio Barletta, Prof. Michele Celli, and Prof. Lorenzo Donati. Their discussions focused on major research themes and recent developments in thermal-fluid engineering, robotics, and manufacturing engineering, while also exploring future opportunities for academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The visit marked a meaningful step toward the practical initiation of long-term collaboration between Kongju National University and the University of Bologna. In particular, both sides discussed concrete avenues of cooperation, including faculty and student exchange, the development of international joint research projects, collaborative publications, and the establishment of a sustainable global research network.
A university representative noted that the visit served as an important opportunity to further strengthen the foundation for research cooperation between the two universities. Kongju National University also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international joint research and talent exchange through continued engagement with leading overseas institutions.
