If you are not one of those types who diligently maintain Tabla compositions in a notebook, the Tabla Notebook app is for you. I have used AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor and OpenCode to implement this. As of now, it seems to be working on Android and Ubuntu 22 (on Chrome).
The app includes the following features:
Tabla phrase Keyboard
Hindi/English Keyboard
Create new phrases and add to Dictionary
View all stored Compositions
View compositions in Bhatkhande notations
"Khands, taali & khaali" for several taals are predefined.
User selected duration: "ekgun/dugun/tigun/chaugun" - Applies to each phrase independently, and can be applied to the entire composition
The "bol" dictionary does not contain all "bols". If you wish, you can add new bols - both in english and hindi, and also define its default duration/maatra.
Not all "bols" in your dictionary may fit on the visible keyboard, but assuming you need around ~15 bols at a time, you can replace a currently visible key, with one from the dictionary. You can also shift positions of the key.
Print selected compositions in Hindi/English pdf
New feature: It is now possible to add new taal templates, edit and delete user defined taal templates.
Apart from this, the keyboard has been adjusted to create a larger composition window, and keys have background color according to their default maatras. The default maatras are editable now. Few bugs have also been taken care of.
