Research Assistant - University of Vermont (2017 - ongoing)
Working on the ARPA-E's Network Optimized Distributed Energy Systems (NODES) project which is a collaboration between UVM, Florida International University (FIU) and the startup Packetized Energy. This work uses a novel distributed coordination scheme for distributed energy resources called 'Packetized Energy Management' that a unique request-response mechanism for coordination.
Specifically, my research work is focused on developing,
- Markovian models for aggregate dynamics of large fleets of DER,
- Low order virtual battery (VB) models suitable for predictive control,
- Identification of DER's end-use consumption from metered energy measurements,
- Predictive control and parameter adaption of VB model's parameters.
Research Assistant - American University of Sharjah (Jan, 2017, May 2017)
- Development of Li-ion based energy management system for EV/HEV drive train.
Associate Engineer
u-blox, Ltd Lahore, Pakistan (July 2013 - Jan 2014)
- Worked on the implementation of the Radio Link Control (RLC), Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) and Robust Header Compression Protocol (RoHC) of the 4th generation Long Term Evolution (LTE) protocol stack.
- The code developed in C/C++ programming language while the testing was carried out using python scripts, ANITE Conformance Toolset and ANITE Development Toolset.
