Summary
Harnessing The Power of Design Thinking: An Introductory Workshop
Teamwork
Interdisciplinary.
Solving complex problems often requires the incorporation of multiple perspectives and the knowledge of many disciplines. The Design Thinking process allows you to effectively channel the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration by creating a shared situation awareness and establishing a common language in addressing problems − the foundation for successful co−creation.
Hands-On Sessions
If you are able to tell right off the bat that an idea will work, it is unlikely that it is truly innovative. In order to innovate beyond what already exists, you have to test and experience an idea to find its true value and functionality. In this workshop you will learn about the benefits of prototyping. The iterative character of Design Thinking encourages you to craft better solutions by learning from early, and inexpensive mistakes.
The user knows best.
If you are looking for a reliable way of developing highly desirable products and services, go for empathy. Understanding your user’s needs will facilitate solutions that are not only feasible and viable, but − most importantly − wanted. Therefore, the workshop emphasizes the training of tools and strategies to better understand your customer’s human needs.
Design Thinking is revolutionizing work as we know it. The principles and processes of Design Thinking are helping folks in our time directly approach complex problems, innovate collaboratively, and create holistic, sustainable solutions with a human-centered focus. In order to make this method accessible to innovative start−ups and passionate entrepreneurs, we are offering an introductory workshop open to everyone ready to accept one of the first challenges in Design Thinking: Stop talking − Start doing! The user knows best.
One day − Forever more.
The workshop.
In one day you will gain an understanding of the principles of Design Thinking. You will learn about the process as well as methods and tools to analyze user needs, prototyping, and generating ideas. You will also get the chance to apply these methods in a small group of four to six people, guided by a professional and certified Design Thinking coach throughout the day.
Goals.
The workshop focuses on a tangible learning process. Using the Design Thinking process to solve a practical challenge, you will see how how all these skills instant feedback, iteration fast−forward problem solving, user−centered perspective−taking, and interdisciplinary teamwork can jumpstart your idea generating process. Instead of a take−home message, you will gain a set of “I−know−how−to’s” to bring home.
