About Me

Prof. Dr. Ali Bülent UŞAKLI

BSc (1988) and PhD (2006) degrees from Gazi University both in electronics education, MSc (1995) degree from Ege University, Institute of Sciences/Nuclear Sciences, Nuclear Applications (Nuclear Electronics), MA (2007) in the field of international relations at Atılım University. Assoc. Prof. (2012) in electrical and electronics engineering (keywords: electronics, electronic education, biomedical). He was appointed as a professor for mechatronics engineering at KTO Karatay University, in 2017.

Research on dose calibrator used in nuclear medicine laboratories is the topic of the master thesis studies. As the doctoral dissertation, he worked on the high-spatial-resolution (256-Channel) electroencephalography system.  He completed his second master degree and thesis studies about technology dimension of transformation of war. He got his all degrees at first three. He successfully completed a one-year English preparatory program at METU in 1998. He completed researches on electro-physiological measurements at Gulhane Military Medical Academy, Medical School, Department of Biophysics in 2007 and one-year post-doctoral research on the brain computer interfaces for paralyzed patients, at The Sapienza University of Rome  in 2009, in Rome/Italy, supported by both The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and the Turkish Armed Forces.

Between 1988-2013, he worked as a military academic (Lieutenant - Senior Colonel) in the army. He joined Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University in 2013. Currently, he has been serving as the chairman of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, vice dean of Engineering Faculty, head of Mechatronics Engineering program of Graduate Education Institute and senator of KTO Karatay University Senate. In addition to these administrative positions, he has been teaching Sensors and Applications, Process Control, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Mechatronics Components and Fundamentals of Biomedical Engineering for the undergraduate program, and Mechatronics I - II and Research Methods for Science and Engingineering courses for the graduate program. Some of his previous courses are Radiation Measurements,  Microprocessors/Microcontrollers, Signals and Systems courses and their laboratories. Additionally, he had worked as second consultant and a researcher at METU EEE, Brain Reseach Laboratory, before KTO Karatay University affiliation.

Research interests are medical electronics, EEG and EOG based bio-potential data acquisition system design. Sensors and signal conditioning, human-computer interactions and interfaces, nuclear radiation and nuclear electronic measurement system design. In addition to these engineering areas, he is also interested in transformation of war and nuclear energy. He has national and international articles, books, book chapters and successfully completed several projects.
