Logan-Hocking Local School District
To avoid missing school on days of inclement weather, when road conditions are marginal, we have developed alternate plans for transporting students. Listed below are these plans:
1. School buses will travel on all State Highways.
Reasons for not picking up students would be if they live on a hill, narrow road, or inaccessible turnaround location.
Students will be notified by the bus driver that they will not be picked up on Plan A days.
In the interest of providing services for families who do not live on the traveledroads, buses will pick up students who are brought out to the traveled roads.
PLAN B - DELAYED STARTING OF SCHOOL
If any of the above plans are put into operation, appropriate announcements will be made over K 95.5, WATH -105.5, WAIS -107.7 radio stations and TV-Channel 4, TV Channel 6 and TV-Channel 10. In the event an early dismissal or Plan A becomes necessary, such action will also be announced over these radio stations. TV-Channel 4, TV-Channel 6 and TV-Channel 10 can only announce closings.
If a parent transports a child to school, during inclement weather, when the bus has nottraveled by their home, the parent will be responsible for providing the childtransportation home, following dismissal; however, the child may ride the bus in theevening, realizing that the bus will travel only on the roads that are authorized underPlan A, and may not travel by the childʼs home.
