Abhivyakti cultural trust ® is an organization which works for the promotion and preservation of Indian culture, values and ethos by the medium of performing arts. It works hard to nurture budding talents and encourage aspiring artists to gain authentic learning process and avail quality learning in a traditional atmosphere. All social, spiritual are cultural festivals are celebrated, hosted and participated by Abhivyakti in Bangalore and outside. The institution is founded by the Dancing duo- Kalayogi Guru Vidwan Shri Raghunandan S and Nrityavilasini Guru Smt. Manasi Raghunandan. Students at Abhivyakti are always encouraged to learn arts with the utmost humble gesture and disciplined attitude. Apart from regular classes and intensive sessions, workshops, lecture-demonstrations, festival, programs, regular heritage tours are also conducted by Abhivyakti for the all-round and holistic development of the students. Several sincere students have successfully cleared KSEEB Junior and senior as well as Vdwath exams in Bharatanatyam, students have also cleared exams in Odissi and Music. Many deserving students have bagged state and national scholarships in dance. Abhivyakti hosts Nrithya Medha, Nrithya Shraavana, Nritya Sammilana, Guru Gangadhar Pradhan tribute program and more to encourage students.
Abhivyakti also has a performing wing of international repute, which comprises of selected senior students, which is run under the direct supervision and guidance of Guru Raghunandan S and Smt Manasi Raghunandan.
Kalayogi Guru Sri Raghunandan S: A performer of high calibre, a creative choreographer and a dedicated teacher, Shri Raghu Nandan S. is an artist devoted to the field of Bharatanatyam and proudly continues the legacy passed down from his grandfather Natyacharya Guru H R Keshava Murthy (Central S. N. A. awardee) and son and disciple of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Shri B K Shyam Prakash and Vidushi Smt Geetha Shyam Prakash. Awarded with the prestigious “Kala Yogi” tile from Indian Council of Cultural Relation Bangalore in 2016. Awarded with “Bharatashree” title (Hubli, Karnataka), Best “Abhinaya classical dancer” award (Eluru, Andhra Pradesh) and “Godavari Sanman” (Khajuraho, Mandhya Pradesh). Male Performer of the year 2016 by Purva School of Bharatanatyam, Vadodara. He is also an auditioned artist of Doordarshan. And is UGC NET qualified in dance. He holds a degree of Master of Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam with distinction and Vidwath (KSEEB) in Bharatanatyam, with gold medal. He holds a distinction in Mridangam (KSEEB) and is often invited as a guest Natuvanaar. He also holds a Degree of Bachelors in Telecommunication and Engineering and is also an I.T professional. He has been training students and teaching Bharatanatyam since Nov.2006. He also hosts annually festivals to encourage talents in dance. As a choreographer, he has choreographed many margam items, and even penned down lyrics in Sanskrit and Kannada for many. Some of which is being presented today. He has also to his credit, performed in 37 major dance dramas with lead roles for which he has won critical appreciation. His major directorial venture with successful productions such as Parivartane, Rama Bharata Samagama, Tripatti, Kala Sangam and Nrithya Bhakti Saara. His recent productions which are critically appreciated and acclaimed include: Sri Sundara Kaanda, Purandhara Pallavi and Aranya Kaanda. As a teacher, he has imparted training as a senior guest faculty at several places and as a Hamsa school of performing arts, Bangalore. Under his leadership, his students have bagged the National CCRT scholarship from the Govt. Of India. Many of his students have cleared KSEEB junior Senior and Vidwath Bharatanatyam exams and five of his talented students have successfully presented their rangapravesha, some of whom are making their mark at national level as well. He has represented India at Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa, Sri Lanka for dance performances, workshops and lectures. He has performed at prestigious festivals such as Nalanda Nrithyotsava, Mumbai, Natyanjali Festival, Karur, Rukmini Devi Arundale festival, Kolkata, Indradhanush, Delhi, Kala Poshakam, Chennai, Hampi festival and many more. Recently, the audience at the Indian consulate performance of Raghu Nandan S in Australia appreciated his solo performance with a standing ovation. He aims at providing quality education in classical dance and wants to nurture interests of aspirants in classical dance and music and its research. He also wants to safeguard the cultural values and ethos through the medium of Indian performing arts and its preservation and promotion.
Nrithya Vilasini Guru Smt. Manasi Raghunandan is the President of Abhivyakti Dance Center, Bangalore. She is an exponent of Odissi & Bharatanatyam. She is a researcher, danseuse, teacher, art critic and a passionate writer. She is a UGC NET qualified, assistant professor in dance. She is a double Post-graduate and holds Master’s degree in Odissi from Rabindra Bharti University, Kolkata and Master’s degree in English from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara. She holds a post-graduate diploma in French. She holds a ‘Kovida’ in Odissi from Nalanda Dance research centre, Mumbai and an ‘Alankar’ in Bharatanatyam with gold medal from “Purva”.She had recently been invited by the Open National University in Subotica for International conference and paper presentation on performing arts and her paper has been published in the international bilingual journal in English and Serbian language. She is also the member of board of directors, elected for world culture MIFA, Italy. She has many critically acclaimed choreographies to her credit such as; “Sri Ramaraksha strotam”, “Hanumaan Chalisa”, “Kala Sangam”, “Sandhya devi strotam”, “Abhayankar Shiva raksha strotam”, “Mangalacharana – Vishnu stutee, astadikpalakas, “Pallavi in kadanakoothuhala”, “Kannada vachanas” & mega dance ballet ‘Sri Jagganath Charitam’ and more. She has been felicitated and awarded by several organizations of national and International repute. She has bagged Nrithya Vilasini, Purva Ratna, CCRT National scholarship, Bharatashree, Dancing queen, Govt. of Gujarat women’s day award and more. She has regular students taking training under her tutelage from Bangalore, other parts of India and from Russia, Brazil, Austria, China, Canada, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, USA and Chile. She has also performed at several festivals such as SZCC National dance festival, Kerala, ICCR Efcep, Bengaluru, SNA Nrithya Pratibha Aurangabad, Nalanda Nrithyotsava, Mumbai, Indradhanush Delhi, Konark dance and music festival, Konark, Rukmini Devi Arundale festival, Kolkata, Purva International classical dance festival, Baroda to name a few. She has performed, conducted workshops at Spain, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Mauritius as well as thrice at Pakistan & recently at Serbia, Yugoslavia, Russia Qatar, Ethiopia and Brazil.
