Chapter 1
Introduction
The term virtual learning environment (VLE) a generically used to describe a range of integrated web based applications that provide teachers, learners, parents and others involved in education with information, tools and resources to support and enhance educational delivery and management.
1.1 Purpose
Before automated VLE’s distance learning and correspondence is nearly to impossible and there is lot of human effort and paperwork gone into it describe which course to select and features of it and there is no standard platform of communication between two parties regarding the course programs. The whole scenario of e-learning change after advancement in VLE.
The project aims to design and develop good interface between student and academic organization and support standard communication medium between two parties it will provide good assistance to the student in their academic career it will not only suffice the need of learner but also fulfil the requirements of parents and other community members
1.2 Overview of the system
Technology is always about building Bridges, Bridges that could take us where we neverreached before. It has all ways improved the pattern of our life, the extent of doing thingswhilst adding more value in forms of convenience and a touch innovation. The concept of the Virtual Learning Environment, here after will bereferred as VLE was the end result of a deep search and an analysis of various methods that could shift the level of Educational Systems and its qualities to a higher level than theprevailing. In modern days even locally we And most students (especially IT related) are provided or do possess sufficient privileges like PCs, Laptops, web cams and most importantly the Internet facility. Having this assumption we seek in to methods to compile these facilities and privileges, knowing there characteristics in depth. VLE could be defined asa compilation of existing concepts like virtual classroom, e-learning, educational networkingand e-safe examination systems.
Internet based learning systems and educational systems are no strangers to the currentcommunity and has been utmost successful in complying and adopting to elevate the learningcultures. The unique attempt that we are focused is to provide a solution that includes allthese features in a more advance manner, inspiring users the convenience of learning without facing any hazard involved in Travelling, Time wastage and costs that do exist to date.
1.3 How it works
A Web based application which enables a privileged user to log in to the designed site willprovide the services available within. There are two main features / applications which auser must go through.
1. Lecturing system.
2. Examination system.
1.4 Overview of the SRS
The next chapter, the Overall Description section, of this document gives an overviewof the functionality of the product. It describes the informal requirements and is used toestablish a context for the technical requirements specification in the next chapter
